Dear Parents and Guardians,
My name is Dr. Maritza Rodriguez. I am honered to serve as the new principal of Rosemary Kennedy Elementary. I have been in education for over 30 years with many years as a preschool and elementary school teacher. Recently, I served as Assistant Dean and Director in the Graduate School of Education at the University of California, Riverside (UCR). I spent several years at the university working with intern and student teachers. I now feel fortunate to being my journey as part of the Alvord team where I will continue to be part of making a difference in children's lives. It's exciting to have the opportunity to be surrounded by Alvord children, teachers, staff, parents, and community member. I look forward to meeting you in person as the year unfolds.

The staff at RMK is a dedicated group of professionals who are committed to providing your child with a rigorous comprehensive education. Our school is committed to the Alvord Unified School District Promise: "ALL students will realize their unlimited potential." Parents are an important component to allow children to reach their potential. Please ensure your child follows the guidelines below:
- Attend school everyday and arrive on time
- Complete homework and classwork given by teachers
- Read daily to develop strong foundational skill in literacy
- Share daily school experiences with parents or guardians
- Inform your parents or guardians if you are struggling in any academic area

Our staff is committed to building a strong partnership with you to ensure your child's success. At RMK we provide several opportunities for families to be part of our school community. We welcome volunteers in the classroom, encourage all our families to be part of the RMK Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), and provide various parent training opportunities to help you academically support your child at home.
Please be sure to speak with your child's teachers if you have any questions and/or concerns about their academic needs. Our doors are always open to address any questions and/or concerns. We look forward to another memorable year at RMK.
